It's a new year! Is anyone else excited for a fresh start? I never used to set goals for a new year, but last year I made a list of a few things I wanted to accomplish throughout the year. I didn't achieve all of them, but I do think it helped me focus on what I wanted. This year, I used the "How to Make the Best of 2018" workbook. THEME The first step in setting your goals for 2018 is to figure out what you want your theme to be. This is one or two words that define what you want to work on. My theme for 2018 is growth. AREAS OF FOCUS The next step is look at the list of areas, and check off the ones that you want to focus on. Some areas you want to focus on might be fitness, career, health, etc. This will help you narrow down what you really want to focus on throughout the year. GOALS AND HABITS Now we get to the hard part. Here you choose 12 goals or habits you want to focus on for the year. For each of these goals or habits, write down some things you need to do in order to achieve this goal. Some of my goals are maintain a 4.0GPA, exercise more, and stop procrastinating. So under stop procrastinating, it would say "watch less netflix". BUCKET LIST The last thing that I did was make a bucket list of 12 things I want to do this year. These are more fun things that you want to do. Some of the things on my bucket list for 2018 are travel somewhere new, and move into my apartment. I really liked this approach because not only do I have clear goals to work on, but I also know what these goals are ultimately working towards, and I have a fun list of things I want to make sure, or at least try, to do. If you want to see how I incorperated this into my bullet journal, go check out my last blog post! bullet-journal-set-up-2018.html What are your goals for 2018?
