Now that the holidays are over, it's time to head back to school. I actually enjoy starting a new semester. It's a fresh start, a chance for me to stop procrastinating. There are a few things you can do to start this new semester off right, even if your brain is still in holiday mode.
I hope this helps you get back into the swing of things just in time for school. Good luck!

Yesterday was my first day of classes, which meant packing my book bag for school for the first time since April. There's always a few things I always make sure I have with me. Here's what's in my book bag: Laptop Sometimes I use my laptop to take notes in class, or I pull it out at the library between classes. It's always good to have in case you need to do something quickly on it. Headphones I always bring headphones with me. It's a habit I picked up in high school, when we were given time to work in class everyone always had their headphones in, or sometimes teachers would have videos they wanted you to watch. Pencil Case I always have a few pens, pencils and highlighters in my pencil case. Even if I take notes on my laptop, I make sure I bring my pencil case incase I need to write something down. Having a pencil case just helps keep your bookbag a little more organized. Lip Balm I don't go anywhere without my lip balm, if I do then that'll be the time that I need it most. I'm obsessed with Burt's Bees Lip Balm, and I always have at least 2 in different places. Water Bottle The last thing you want to happen in class is have a coughing fit and not have any water... We've all been there. A Snack I usually have a granola bar in my bag in case I get hungry, especially if it's a long class, or I won't be getting food for awhile. Notebooks/ Binder This seems pretty obvious, but always bring your notebook or binder to class. If I'm going to go study after class I always make sure I bring my notebooks for whatever classes I'm going to be studying. Planner I'll admit I don't always bring my planner with me. Only because it's kind of heavy, but I do bring it if I'm going to be studying in the library. Wallet/Keys Don't forget your keys! My dorm room last year would automatically lock when you shut the door and people would always forget their keys in the room. Always bring your wallet too because you never know when you're going to need to stop at Tim's or go to the bookstore. I hope everyone is having a great time back at school! Let me know what's in your backpack in the comments below!
~Ana I love school supplies. Getting new school supplies feels like Christmas morning for me. When I was little, going to get school supplies was the highlight of my summer (I know, I'm weird). Now that I'm going into my second year of university, I have a bit of a system. Here is a list of the 10 most essential school supplies for university. 1. Book Bag It's important to have a good quality book bag. Nothing ruins your day faster than trying to carry around textbooks in a book bag that has zero support. I use the North Face Recon backpack and I love it. 2. Laptop Although you can use the school's computers, it is really helpful to have your own laptop. Not only can you take notes during class, but you can also catch up on Netflix when you have a break. I've been using my MacBook Air for over a year now and it makes life so much easier. 3. A Planner I don't understand how some people can live without using a planner. I need to write out any assignments I have, or any other things I need to remember. If you try to remember everything you have to do, you'll definitely forget something. 4. Post-Its I am the Post-It queen. I have so many different kinds of Post-Its. I use the regular sticky notes to write down any quick ideas, or reminders. The Post-It tabs also come in handy when I'm flipping between pages in my textbook. I also just recently found the graph sticky notes which I'm excited to try out for my math classes. 5. Pens, Pencils, and Highlighters This is kind of a given, but there are always people who forget to bring a pencil to an exam and ask to borrow mine. Plus, highlighters help you study. 6. Pencil Case This is another thing that makes life easy. Instead of digging around the bottom of your book bag for a pen, just put everything you need in a cute pencil case. It'll make 8am classes so much less stressful. 7. Notebooks Some people prefer typing their notes over writing them, but writing them out actually helps you remember better. I'm a huge Five Star fan. Once I used their notebooks, there was no going back. They're so durable and they have folders built into them which makes keeping everything organized a lot easier. 8. Wite-Out I prefer the Wite-Out tape over the liquid Wite-Out. If you make a spelling error, you can just tape over it and keep writing. 9. Headphones Whether you're listening to music while studying, or walking to class, headphones are a necessity. 10. A Printer Having your own printer in your room is really nice to have especially if you have a lot of papers to hand in. My professors wanted hard copies of my essays, and having your own printer is easier than having to race to the library before class. I have an HP Envy. It's perfect because it's small enough to keep on your desk, but it also has a scanner. I hope this list makes going back to school a little easier. What are your school supplies must-haves? Leave them in the comments below!
